Temitope Osoba Died at Police Station, Fiancé Alleges

Prophet Itunu Onadeko, fiancé of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, has claimed that the actress died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State, contrary to reports linking her death to complications from breast cancer.

Onadeko made the claim during an interview with Celestial Reality Check on Saturday while speaking about the circumstances surrounding Osoba’s final days. He also dismissed allegations that the actress was poisoned, maltreated or subjected to other forms of abuse before her death.

According to the prophet, he received a phone call around midnight from an unidentified person informing him that Osoba had died at a police station in Ikorodu.

He said he was not told the exact station where the actress reportedly died but went to a nearby police station to report himself after receiving the information.

Onadeko explained that Osoba had gone to visit a woman identified as Kehinde Osoba shortly before her death. He said the actress was accompanied by a hairdresser at whose residence she had been staying.

He added that he remained in contact with Osoba during the period, noting that she was still active on social media before he was informed of her death.

The prophet also rejected reports that Osoba’s previous battle with breast cancer was responsible for her death. He acknowledged that she had undergone surgery after being diagnosed with cancer but insisted that the illness was not the cause of her death.

Onadeko further denied allegations that he controlled money donated to the actress for her medical treatment or used the funds to finance his church. He said the money was paid into Osoba’s personal account and that he never had access to it.

He also dismissed claims that the actress was prevented from using her car, saying she drove herself to Iperu shortly before her death.

According to him, Osoba had been reluctant to visit members of her maternal family because of past disagreements, but he encouraged her to maintain contact with them because they were planning to get married.

Onadeko also disclosed that Osoba had struggled with smoking and said he had encouraged her to stop. He maintained that members of his church were aware of the habit.

The prophet denied allegations that Osoba was physically abused before her death, including claims that she was punished by having faeces or urine poured on her body.

He said they had lived together without being subjected to financial hardship or coercion and explained that the house where Osoba stayed belonged to her uncle.

Onadeko also rejected claims that the actress consumed poison before her death. He said she had stopped attending his church about three weeks before she died.

Osoba, who was 40 years old, reportedly died on Wednesday. She is expected to be buried on August 13, 2026, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.

However, the allegations made by Onadeko have not been independently verified, and the exact circumstances and cause of the actress’ death remain unclear.
