Esther Umoh, an aide to Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, has urged the leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to immediately clarify the party’s official logo, warning that the uncertainty is creating confusion among members and candidates ahead of the 2026 general elections.

In a statement addressed to the party’s Director of Communications, Theo Abu Agada, Umoh called on the NDC leadership to resolve the issue without further delay.

She said with less than five months before the elections, candidates and supporters remain uncertain about the correct logo approved for use on campaign materials, a situation she believes could affect the party’s unity and election preparations.

Umoh noted that the lack of clear direction on the party’s identity could weaken campaign efforts and create unnecessary confusion at the grassroots.

She appealed to the party leadership to issue an official communication to all state chapters and stakeholders, clearly identifying the logo approved by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and providing uniform guidelines for its use.
According to her, the party needs a consistent identity as it prepares for the polls and cannot afford conflicting messages at such an important stage of the campaign.
She also expressed concern over the delay in resolving the matter, saying she hoped it was not a sign that the party was unprepared or taking actions that could affect its electoral chances.
Umoh urged the NDC leadership to act quickly to protect the party’s prospects and ensure all members present a united front ahead of the elections.
