The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, across its retail outlets.

The adjustment lowered the price from ₦1,335 per litre to ₦1,299 per litre, representing a reduction of ₦36 per litre.

The new price has already been implemented at several NNPCL filling stations in the Federal Capital Territory, including outlets in Lugbe, Kubwa Expressway, Wuse Zone 3 and other parts of Abuja.

The latest price cut comes days after MRS filling stations, supplied by Dangote Refinery, reduced the price of petrol by ₦40 per litre, bringing it down to ₦1,265 per litre.
Following the MRS adjustment, several independent marketers selling petrol between ₦1,300 and ₦1,310 per litre faced increasing pressure to review their pump prices.
NNPCL’s latest reduction is expected to influence fuel pricing across the Federal Capital Territory, with more marketers likely to adjust their prices in response to the growing competition.
