On arrival in Kano, the returnees were taken through documentation and screening procedures.

Immigration officers said they were processed using standard migration data systems before being moved for profiling and counselling.

The exercise is part of ongoing reintegration support for returnees.

The Nigeria Immigration Service worked with other agencies including NAPTIP and the International Organisation for Migration.

They coordinated the reception and ensured the migrants were safely handled at designated centres. Officials said the system is designed to support voluntary returns and reintegration.

Agadez remains a major transit point for migrants moving towards North Africa and Europe. Many Nigerians have been stranded along the route due to migration risks and regional instability.

Authorities continue to support return programmes for affected citizens across the region.
