Wike Allies Dominate APC Primaries In Rivers
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced winners of its House of Representatives primaries in Rivers State, with allies of Nyesom Wike and Speaker Martin Amaewhule securing major tickets across the 13 federal constituencies ahead of the 2027 elections.
The primaries were held on Saturday across the state, with results collated and declared at the party secretariat in Port Harcourt by the election committee chairman, Wahab Owokoniran, in the presence of electoral officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Amaewhule, Speaker of the Rivers Assembly, emerged unopposed for Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency I after polling 17,968 votes.
Several other candidates also won either unopposed or through competitive contests in different constituencies.
The APC also confirmed that some aspirants loyal to Governor Siminalayi Fubara were earlier disqualified, as the party concluded its selection process ahead of the next general election cycle.
