Delta APC Clears 46 Assembly Aspirants
The All Progressives Congress screening committee in Delta State has cleared 46 out of 82 aspirants seeking tickets for the State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 elections.
Thirty-six others were disqualified after the exercise held in Asaba.
The screening took place at the APC State Secretariat over two days, where aspirants were assessed in line with party guidelines and electoral laws.
The outcome was signed by committee chairman Dr Uche Uzochukwu and secretary Dr Chiedozie Nwafor.
Among those cleared are Speaker Emomotimi Guwor, several serving lawmakers and some former commissioners who recently resigned to pursue elective positions.
Marylyn Okowa and Orode Uduaghan were also among those approved to continue in the race.
The committee said some aspirants were disqualified over issues linked to attempted inducement, missing documents, irregular personal records and failure to follow zoning arrangements within their constituencies.
