APC Unbothered By Obi Defection – Yilwatda
The All Progressives Congress has reacted to reports of Peter Obi’s movement from the African Democratic Congress to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, saying it has no effect on the ruling party.
APC National Chairman, Nantewe Yilwatda, spoke in Abuja during the ongoing sale of nomination forms for the 2027 elections.
He said opposition parties are free to manage their internal issues, adding that such movements between them do not affect APC’s structure or strength.
He also noted that recent defections within opposition ranks, including lawmakers, do not pose any challenge to the ruling party.
Yilwatda explained that APC remains stable and focused on preparations for the next general elections.
He said the large turnout of aspirants buying nomination forms shows strong public interest in the party across the country.
He added that the party is working within the timeline set by the Electoral Act and will not extend the deadline for form submissions.
According to him, APC is well prepared for the 2027 polls and confident of its organisation.
