Wike Openly Challenges PDP Rivals
Nyesom Wike on Wednesday challenged rival factions in the Peoples Democratic Party to prove their claims of control by opening an official party account and secretariat.
He spoke during a media chat in Abuja amid the ongoing leadership crisis.
The FCT minister accused some leaders, including Taminu Turaki, of misleading members and ignoring court rulings.
He said any group claiming authority should ask members to pay nomination fees into a recognised account if they truly control the party.
Wike argued that no bank would approve such an account without valid documents and recognised leadership.
He maintained that the faction lacks legal backing and cannot lawfully run party affairs, warning that claims of control do not match reality.
He also warned against setting up parallel party offices in Abuja, saying any illegal structure would be shut down to prevent unrest.
Wike insisted court decisions had already settled the dispute, urging party members to avoid confusion as the crisis continues ahead of the 2027 elections.
