The warning was issued during a media briefing where the group rejected moves it described as undemocratic.

The leaders said any attempt to sideline party members in choosing a candidate would be resisted.

Speaking through their representative Markus Gundiri, they insisted that the will of the people must not be replaced by decisions made by a few power brokers.

They called for a free and transparent primary process where all aspirants are given equal opportunity.

The group warned that forcing a candidate on the party could create division and weaken its chances in the general election.

While backing the federal government, the coalition made it clear that such support does not extend to state-level arrangements.

They urged party leaders to respect democratic principles to avoid rising tension in the state.
