ADC Rejects Ibadan Summit

In Nigeria, the African Democratic Congress has distanced itself from the recent opposition summit held in Ibadan, stating that the party was not involved in the gathering.

The clarification came from the faction led by Nafiu Bala Gombe.

The party said those who attended the meeting did not represent its official structure, describing them as individuals pursuing personal political interests.
It also alleged that some participants wrongly presented themselves as members of the party.
According to its spokesman Christopher Okechukwu, the group involved had previously acted against a Court of Appeal ruling by organising unauthorised party activities, including congresses and a convention.
Despite the dispute, the party reaffirmed its readiness for the 2027 elections, stating it would present candidates across all levels while awaiting a final decision from the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
