Governor Dapo Abiodun had earlier announced the change during the inauguration of key projects, including the Gateway International Airport.

The move is part of efforts to honour the President’s contributions and presence in the state.

The council also renamed the former Aviation Village in Iperu after the late Oba Adeleke Idowu Basibo.

In addition, it approved the purchase of 50 transformers to improve electricity supply under the Light Up Ogun Project.

Further approvals include the acquisition of official vehicles and the recognition of traditional rulers across different communities.

The decisions reflect ongoing plans to improve infrastructure and strengthen governance in the state.
