President Bola Tinubu may visit Jos following the deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba, according to Plateau governor Caleb Mutfwang.

The governor spoke after meeting the president in Abuja on Wednesday to discuss the incident and its aftermath.

Mutfwang said the president is considering the trip to sympathise with victims and residents after the violence that left many dead on Sunday evening.

He described the attack as a brutal act and said steps are being taken to prevent a repeat.
He added that the situation is now under control after swift action by security agencies. A curfew earlier imposed in affected areas was later eased, although some looting briefly disrupted calm before order was restored.
The governor said the crisis involves different criminal elements and cannot be traced to a single cause.
He assured residents of stronger security efforts and unity among communities, noting that no arrests have been made yet but investigations are ongoing.
