Tinubu Marks 74th Birthday Quietly, Cites National Mood
In Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has chosen to celebrate his 74th birthday in a low-key manner, citing the current national mood and challenges facing the country.
In a personal message, the president thanked Nigerians for their prayers and goodwill, saying he decided to keep the celebration simple in line with the situation in the country.
He expressed gratitude for the support shown to him and his administration.
Tinubu also appreciated individuals and groups who marked his birthday publicly, including those who placed adverts and sent messages.
He extended thanks to his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their kind words.
Reflecting on his time in office, he said the country has faced challenges since the introduction of reforms but noted that there are early signs of progress.
He added that recent global tensions have created setbacks, but insisted that efforts made so far are yielding results.
Looking ahead, the president said his administration remains committed to tackling Nigeria’s problems and called on citizens to stay united and support ongoing efforts to build a stronger nation.
