The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project has pressed the Senate to make public all aspects of its investigation into about ₦200 trillion allegedly missing from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.

The organisation highlighted that the disputed sum covers roughly ₦103 trillion in joint venture costs and ₦107 trillion in receivables, subsidies, and other obligations.
The advocacy group stressed that full disclosure is needed to prevent political interference and ensure accountability.
SERAP also urged the Senate to set clear timelines for officials’ appearances and the conclusion of the investigation, while warning of possible legal action if the demands are ignored.
Citing both Nigerian law and international anti-corruption frameworks, SERAP said transparent handling of the matter would allow citizens to verify the credibility of the claims, strengthen public confidence, and uphold equality before the law.
