Resignation Sparks New Ambition In Edo State
Paddy Iyamu has stepped down as Commissioner for Education in Edo State and declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Oredo Federal Constituency.
His declaration took place at the APC secretariat in the local government area.
The event drew several party leaders, including members of the All Progressives Congress, who gathered to show support as he unveiled his ambition.
Iyamu said his political journey within the party dates back several years, alongside his involvement in community support projects.
He pointed to his work with women and youths across the constituency, saying his programmes have helped many families and businesses.
He also dismissed claims questioning his acceptance at the grassroots, insisting his record speaks for itself.
Party leaders at the event called for unity among members as political activities begin to gather pace.
Iyamu expressed confidence in securing victory, saying he has strong backing from the people.
