In a statement issued by his media office, Amaechi condemned the attacks and accused the government of failing in its primary duty to protect citizens.

He described the administration as “abysmally incompetent,” arguing that the repeated incidents of violence show a lack of effective leadership.

The former Rivers State governor said Nigerians cannot continue to suffer insecurity while those in power fail to take decisive action.

He also criticised what he described as a weak response to ongoing security challenges, claiming the situation reflects deeper governance issues.

Amaechi expressed sympathy for victims and families affected by the explosions, which reportedly left at least 26 people dead and many others injured.

He insisted that the scale of the tragedy demands accountability and urgent action from the government.

The attacks, which occurred at multiple locations across Maiduguri, have raised fresh concerns about the security situation in Nigeria’s northeast. Authorities say investigations are ongoing.
