In the United Kingdom, the government has released the programme for President Bola Tinubu’s state visit scheduled to take place from March 17 to 19.

The visit will include ceremonial events, bilateral meetings and engagements with members of the Nigerian diaspora.

Preparations will begin on March 17 with security checks, road closures and rehearsals ahead of the president’s arrival.

Tinubu is expected to arrive on March 18 where he will be received by Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales before proceeding to Windsor Castle for a ceremonial welcome hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
The schedule includes a carriage procession, a guard inspection and a state luncheon at St George’s Hall.
Later in the day, the Nigerian president will hold discussions with British officials on trade, security, migration and port development, followed by a cultural exchange and state banquet.
On March 19, Tinubu will meet UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street for bilateral talks and a working lunch.
The visit will also include a wreath laying at the Cenotaph and meetings with Nigerians in the diaspora before the president departs for Nigeria, marking the country’s first full state visit to the UK in nearly six decades.
