PDP Faction Rejects Exco Dissolution

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party led by Tanimu Turaki has urged members to ignore reports claiming that the party’s executive committees in Ogun, Ekiti and Ondo states have been dissolved.

The group’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, said in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja that the alleged dissolution was illegal and could worsen divisions within the party.

According to him, the announcement contradicts ongoing efforts aimed at reconciling different interests within the PDP and restoring unity ahead of future elections.
Ememobong said the action is null and should not be recognised by party members or the public.
He urged state chapters as well as ward and local government officials to disregard the notice and continue carrying out their legitimate duties.
The faction added that the party leadership remains focused on peace and unity as it works toward strengthening the PDP ahead of upcoming elections.
