A governorship hopeful of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has expressed confidence that the party will participate in the 2027 general election and secure victory in the state.

He gave the assurance during a Ramadan lecture organised for Muslims in Ibadan.

The event took place at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State playing ground and drew supporters and political figures from across the state.

Ajadi said that despite internal challenges facing the party, the PDP would remain strong enough to appear on the ballot and achieve a convincing win.
Speaking on the theme Good Politics, he said the lecture was organised to encourage politicians to practise politics with decency and responsibility.
He explained that politics should not be treated as a violent or hostile activity, especially as the country moves closer to another election cycle.
The guest lecturer, Usman Sanni Sheu, urged politicians to avoid violence and focus on peaceful political engagement.
He also praised Governor Seyi Makinde for maintaining peace in the state and advised Ajadi to continue promoting calm and responsible leadership in his political journey.
