The Edo State Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Daniel A Noah Osa Ogbegie, has resigned from the party and declared support for Monday Okpebholo.

Osa-Ogbegie announced his decision in a statement titled That Edo May Win, explaining that the move followed consultations with political associates, community leaders and members of his family.

The legal practitioner said politics should remain a platform for service to the people, adding that changing political alignment sometimes becomes necessary in order to continue contributing to the development of society.
He expressed appreciation to members and leaders of the PDP for the experiences and relationships he built during his time in the party.
Osa-Ogbegie also criticised the opposition space in the country, saying it has struggled to organise itself with the cohesion and direction needed to present a strong alternative.
According to him, he observed the early direction of the administration of Governor Okpebholo and concluded that supporting the government would better serve the interests of Edo State at this time.
