The governors specifically endorsed Executive Order 9, signed on February 13, 2026, which requires proceeds such as royalty oil, tax oil, profit oil and gas entitlements to be remitted straight to the Federation Account.

They said the move would bring clarity to revenue sharing among federal, state and local governments.

NGF Chairman and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, described the Federation Account as central to Nigeria’s fiscal system, noting that predictable revenue strengthens planning and service delivery.

The Forum stressed that steady funds are vital for education, healthcare, infrastructure and security.

The governors also pledged continued collaboration with the Federal Government to ensure the reforms translate into lasting development and stronger fiscal stability nationwide.
