In his letter dated 2 March 2026, Adamu thanked the governor for the chance to serve, describing it as a rare privilege.

He also appreciated ministry staff and his supporters for their backing during his time in office.

Adamu said his decision does not end his involvement in public service and promised to keep working for the state’s progress.

He was absent when Governor Fintiri defected to the All Progressives Congress last week.

While he is believed to be considering a run for governor, sources say his father has backed him for a Senate seat.

Meanwhile, Abba Atiku is preparing to contest a House of Representatives seat on the platform of the APC.
