The Nigeria Police Force has pledged a full investigation and support for the family of an officer who died during a tactical rescue simulation exercise in Abuja.
The incident occurred during a routine training drill in the Federal Capital Territory, where officers were taking part in a planned operation.
Police authorities said the officer lost his life in the course of the simulation.
The force described the development as painful and unfortunate, noting that training exercises are designed to prepare personnel for real-life emergencies while keeping safety as a priority.
In response, the police leadership assured that a detailed inquiry would be carried out to determine what went wrong.
It also promised to stand by the officer’s family, offering necessary assistance and welfare support during this difficult time.
