INEC Releases New Registration Figures
The Independent National Electoral Commission has recorded 1,228,648 fresh registrations under Phase II of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise as of 13 February 2026.
The update was released at the close of the sixth week of the nationwide exercise.
Out of the total, 673,124 applicants completed their details through the online pre-registration portal, while 555,524 finalised their enrolment at physical centres across the country.
The commission shared the figures on its official X platform on Thursday.
Women made up the larger share of new voters, accounting for 696,891 registrations, which represents 57 per cent.
Male registrants stood at 531,757, making up the remaining 43 per cent. Young people also turned out in large numbers, with 848,066 registrants aged between 18 and 34, representing about 69.02 per cent of the total.
The commission added that 19,414 Persons with Disabilities successfully registered during the ongoing process.
INEC said the exercise forms part of preparations for future elections and urged eligible citizens to complete their registration before the deadline.
