Atikase claimed the attackers stormed the venue armed and declared that they had been paid to assassinate him.

He accused Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of backing the assault and said the governor should be held responsible if any harm comes to him.

He also alleged that his social media account was briefly suspended after he raised concerns about threats to his life.

According to him, more than 100 armed men invaded the secretariat before the arrival of the congress committee from Abuja, beating several party leaders including the state chairman and other chieftains.

He questioned why the governor later held a meeting at the same venue and did not visit those injured.

The Ondo State Government denied the claims, describing them as false and politically driven.

Officials said the governor was neither aware of nor linked to the meeting and could not have approved any act of violence, urging the public to ignore what they called baseless accusations.
