He spoke at the 2026 Annual Distinguished Personality Lecture organised by the Faculty of Social Sciences at Yakubu Gowon University, Abuja, where leadership and infrastructure formed the core of discussion.

He explained that Tinubu’s involvement in the pro-democracy struggle shaped his leadership long before he assumed office.
He also noted that the early removal of the fuel subsidy showed resolve, freeing up funds for subonal governments, easing debt pressure and beginning reforms in the energy sector.
These steps, he said, are aimed at rebuilding public trust and strengthening state capacity.
