The President said, “I express my condolences to the traders and the people of Kano State over the devastating fire outbreak.”

He described the incident as deeply troubling, noting that it struck less than two weeks after a similar fire damaged the same market.

He added, “The fire, which started on Saturday evening and continued into Sunday morning, caused extensive damage to Nigeria’s largest food market.”

The President also said, “I am particularly alarmed that the latest incident occurred less than two weeks after a previous fire destroyed dozens of shops and property at the same market.”

The Federal Government is expected to offer financial support to affected traders and assist Kano State in reopening the market swiftly.
