The company said the exercise involves servicing a 30MVA, 132/33kV power transformer known as TR2.

The maintenance began around 9:30am on Monday and is expected to end by 4:00pm the same day, with the aim of keeping the equipment in good working condition.

During this period, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company will not be able to receive bulk power supply for distribution to parts of the state capital.

Areas affected include Tunga, Shiroro Area, Police Secondary School, Air Force Base, Maikunkele, Tudun Fulani, Beji, Chanchaga, Tungan Goro, Federal Government College, Bosso Low-Cost, Okada Road, parts of London Street, Kateregi, and Sabon Daga.

TCN assured residents that electricity supply will return immediately after the work is completed.

The company also appealed for patience, saying it regrets the inconvenience the temporary blackout may cause homes and businesses.
