Makinde Is Free To Join ADC – Chairman
Oyo State’s African Democratic Congress (ADC) chairman, Yinka Olona, said Governor Seyi Makinde is welcome to join the party, provided he respects its rules and democratic processes.
Olona made the statement during a stakeholders’ meeting in Moniya, emphasising that the party operates a structured system that cannot be bypassed by any individual.
He dismissed rumours of formal talks with Makinde, noting that while discussions may have happened with others, no official engagement has taken place.
Olona reiterated that ADC’s doors are open to anyone willing to follow party procedures.
Olona described the ADC as a coalition platform formed to address the hardships Nigerians face, claiming it offers an alternative to the ruling APC and PDP.
The party aims not only at elections but also at repositioning the country and restoring public confidence in governance.
An ADC governorship aspirant, Niyi Aborishade, added that the party provides equal opportunities to all aspirants, distinguishing itself with internal democracy.
He said wealth or fame does not influence candidacy, and every member has a fair chance to compete within the party.
