FCT Workers End Strike After Truce
The indefinite strike by workers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has been called off following a long meeting between the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, and leaders of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC).

The agreement came after hours of discussions mediated by the Senate Committee on FCT, resolving disputes over workers’ grievances.
All parties agreed on measures to ensure staff are not penalised for the strike.
Union leaders directed all members to resume work immediately, assuring that outstanding issues at the National Industrial Court would be addressed promptly.
The move restores normal operations across FCT offices, departments, and agencies.
Officials confirmed that the settlement emphasises continued dialogue and mutual respect between the government and organised labour, aiming to prevent future industrial disputes in the territory.
