The request came from the Rivers State House of Assembly, which had asked the chief judge to constitute a seven-member panel to probe allegations of gross misconduct against the governor and his deputy, Ngozi Odu.

Amadi’s decision is linked to legal restrictions already placed on the matter, making it impossible for him to take further steps at this time.

The development deepens the ongoing political tension in the state, as the lawmakers push forward with actions against the executive arm.

Further details are expected as the situation unfolds and parties await the next legal move.
