Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has sent a Christmas message to residents of Abuja, calling for peace, unity and shared responsibility during the festive season.

He addressed Christians in the FCT and residents at large as celebrations mark the birth of Jesus Christ.
The message was issued in Abuja in 2025 on behalf of the FCT Administration, with Wike describing Christmas as a season of joy, sharing and good neighbourliness. He encouraged residents to use the period to strengthen bonds and promote harmony across communities in the nation’s capital.

Wike said the season should also be a time for reflection, urging Christians to renew their commitment to love, unity and peace in their daily lives. He noted that these values remain vital for peaceful coexistence in a diverse city like Abuja.
The minister thanked FCT residents for their cooperation and support throughout the year, saying the administration recorded progress across key sectors. He listed school renovations, improved hospitals, new roads and bridges, support for the judiciary and better security as part of the year’s achievements.

He also acknowledged the role of President Bola Tinubu, as well as partners, stakeholders and FCT workers, in driving development across the territory. Wike said continued collaboration would help sustain growth and improve living conditions for residents.
Wike urged residents to remain alert during the festivities and report suspicious activities to security agencies. He assured that measures were in place to protect lives and property, adding that the FCT Administration remains committed to providing services that improve everyday life in Abuja.
