The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control has ordered a ban on Indomie Vegetable Flavour noodles in Nigeria after safety concerns were raised about the product.
The action was taken in Nigeria following a recall alert issued in France, where food safety authorities discovered that the noodles contained milk and eggs that were not listed on the label.

The decision was announced on Friday through a public alert released by NAFDAC, warning that the undeclared ingredients could cause serious reactions in people with food allergies or intolerances.
The affected product includes all batches of Indomie Vegetable Flavour noodles with a best-before date of February 6, 2026, according to the agency.

Although Nigeria has a standing ban on imported noodles, NAFDAC said the product could still enter the country through illegal routes, online shopping platforms, or travellers bringing it in from abroad.
To prevent this, NAFDAC has directed its zonal and state officers to watch markets closely, seize the product if found, and advised sellers and consumers to avoid selling or eating the recalled noodles.
