The All Progressives Congress youth wing in Oyo State has declared its resolve to remove the Peoples Democratic Party from power in the 2027 governorship election while working to secure a second term for President Bola Tinubu.
The push is being driven by APC youths across the state who believe the party must return to power after years in opposition and take a stronger role in shaping Oyo’s political future.
The plan was unveiled during the 2025 Oyo APC Youth Summit and Interactive Session held in Ibadan, where party members and leaders gathered to review the state of the party.
The meeting focused on Oyo State, which party leaders described as critical to the future of progressive politics ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The move is rooted in the belief that APC can only win again through unity, internal discipline, stronger grassroots presence, and greater involvement of youths and women in party affairs.
The summit ended with commitments to reconciliation, youth-focused programmes, and early campaign planning, as APC youths pledged to lead efforts aimed at reclaiming the Oyo Government House in 2027.
