Senator Kabiru Marafa has pushed back against claims that former Zamfara governor and current Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle played a role in his political rise.

His camp insists the real story is that Marafa helped Matawalle secure the governorship in 2019.

The reaction came from Surajo Garba Maikatako, who leads the Marafa Support Group. He dismissed comments from APC chairman Tukur Danfulani, saying the claim that Matawalle supported Marafa was a complete distortion of the state’s political history.
