ADC Leaders Push For United Front Ahead Of 2027

The African Democratic Congress gathered in Kabba on Saturday to unveil its new structure for the North Central zone as party leaders called for a united effort to strengthen the party before the 2027 elections.

Senator Tunde Ogbeha said the ADC’s plan to rescue Nigeria can only succeed if members work with a shared sense of purpose.

He described the event as an important moment for the party in Kogi West and across the state. He also restated that Hon. Leke Abejide remains expelled from the ADC and will not feature on the party’s ticket in the next general election. Ogbeha urged members to step up grassroots mobilisation, saying the party is ready to compete for power.

He called on community leaders to help the party build solid ward and unit structures, stressing that long-term growth must begin at the local level. His message focused on creating a platform where people feel included and where their concerns guide the party’s direction.

Speaking at the event, Senator Dino Melaye said life had become harder under the current APC-led government, pointing to rising hunger, unemployment, and insecurity. He warned Abejide against causing unrest in Okunland and said residents were prepared to confront those working against community unity.

Melaye said the ADC offered a credible alternative with the courage and discipline needed to rebuild the country. He accused the federal government of failing to protect citizens as kidnapping and killings continue to affect many communities.

The party’s state secretary, Alhaji Musa Ahmadu, asked the APC government to address corruption, saying genuine development requires honesty and openness. He encouraged people in Kogi West to join the upcoming ADC membership registration, arguing that strong public participation would be key to unseating the APC in 2027.

The event drew several party leaders and former public officials, marking one of the largest ADC gatherings in the zone as preparations for the next election cycle intensify.
