The President also recalled his political interactions with Jonathan over the years. He said their early engagements, particularly around 2010 and ahead of the 2011 election, played a part in shaping Jonathan’s rise and later national role.

Tinubu further noted that Jonathan’s work has expanded beyond Nigeria, with the former president now taking on demanding diplomatic assignments across Africa. He said these roles reflect Jonathan’s ongoing impact on democratic values and governance on the continent.

The President ended his message with prayers for Jonathan’s health and well-being, extending the same wishes to his wife, Patience Jonathan, and their family.
