The announcement was framed as part of a broader restructuring aimed at aligning the administration with its policy agenda. The state government said the adjustments are meant to strengthen its operations as it pushes its Renewed Hope and Arise programmes.

Sources inside Government House in Uyo revealed that the dismissals followed the aides’ appearance at the PDP convention in Ibadan last weekend. They were reportedly seen on live television wearing PDP campaign outfits.

The incident comes six months after Governor Eno defected from the PDP to the APC. Since then, he has directed his appointees to follow him into the ruling party, but some have been accused of maintaining ties with the opposition.

Insiders say the governor is using this period to assess loyalty within his cabinet as political positioning intensifies ahead of the 2027 elections. The removal of the two aides is seen as a signal that he intends to enforce party alignment among his team.

In a separate announcement, the governor appointed Elsie Anietie Peters as the new Head of Service in the state. She will be sworn in at the Banquet Hall on Tuesday morning.
