“China firmly opposes any country using religion and human rights as an excuse to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs or to threaten them with sanctions and force,” she said.

Her comments came after President Trump warned that the U.S. could consider military action against Nigeria if reports of religious persecution persist.

China’s remarks reflect growing global division over Washington’s stance, with Beijing signaling firm support for the Tinubu government as Nigeria’s dollar bonds began recovering after an initial dip triggered by Trump’s statements.
