Eminent leaders and concerned stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have welcomed the Federal High Court judgment of October 31, 2025, describing it as a victory for legality, order, and internal democracy within the party.

In a communiqué issued after a meeting in Abuja, the group praised the Judiciary for reaffirming the supremacy of the PDP Constitution, the 1999 Constitution, and the Electoral Act, saying the ruling had “restored confidence in the PDP as a law-abiding institution.”

The leaders said the judgment clarified the lawful roles of party officers and reinforced discipline in the party’s administration. They noted that the court affirmed Chief Dan Osi Orbih as the legitimate National Vice Chairman (South-South), while declaring the appointment of Chief Emmanuel Ogidi null and void.

They further stated that the court’s affirmation of Ali Odefa’s expulsion would help uphold discipline and accountability within the party. The ruling also confirmed that all correspondences to INEC must be jointly signed by the National Chairman and National Secretary, with the latter serving as the principal signatory.

According to the communiqué, the court made it clear that no valid national convention can hold until all constitutional and procedural requirements are met. The stakeholders said the judgment validated the plaintiffs’ action as a patriotic step toward strengthening democracy and due process in political party management.
