Communities in Orumba North and South local government areas of Anambra State have donated a combined N225 million to support Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election bid ahead of the November 8 governorship election.
During Soludo’s campaign visit to Ajalli and Umunze, Orumba North contributed N75 million while Orumba South donated N150 million to the governor’s campaign fund. The visit attracted more than 10,000 supporters who gathered to hear the governor outline his administration’s achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
Soludo, who described his campaign as “a divine project and a mass movement,” expressed gratitude for the massive grassroots support, calling the gesture unprecedented in Anambra’s political history. He urged residents to ensure their votes count, advising them to handle their ballots carefully to avoid invalid votes.
The governor reaffirmed his confidence in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and encouraged supporters to get their Permanent Voter Cards ready, assuring them of more development projects if re-elected.
Former Deputy Governor Emeka Sibudu, Commissioner for Agriculture Dr. Foster Ihejiofor, Chief of Staff Ernest Ezeajughi, Federal lawmaker Princess Chinwe Nnabuife, and other political leaders attended the rally. They declared that APGA remains the dominant party in the area and predicted victory for Soludo at the polls.
