The younger brother of detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, has cautioned those he accused of using his brother’s health condition for political gain, saying Kanu’s situation is worsening each day.

In a statement, Emmanuel described his brother’s daily struggle as heartbreaking, revealing that every morning Nnamdi Kanu wakes up feels like a miracle. He said he spends every day by his brother’s side and witnesses the toll that illness has taken on him.

Emmanuel accused some individuals of exploiting the IPOB leader’s deteriorating condition to advance political interests, warning that those obstructing Kanu’s access to proper medical care will one day face consequences. He said Kanu’s condition has grown more severe, adding that anyone who saw him in court recently would notice how weak and slow he has become.

The ongoing court case took another turn last Wednesday after the absence of a medical report from the Nigerian Medical Association delayed proceedings. The presiding judge, Justice James Omotosho, had earlier directed the association to examine Kanu to determine whether he should be transferred to the National Hospital for treatment as requested by his lawyers.
The court was unable to continue with the case due to the missing report and has adjourned the matter until October 16.
Emmanuel urged Nigerians to pray for his brother, saying that despite his worsening condition, Kanu continues to show resilience and faith while awaiting justice.
