The decision came shortly after Ojo visited the party’s secretariat in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, where he was reportedly received with silence from the party executives, raising early signs of his uncertain standing within the APC.

Ojo, who arrived at the secretariat with a large crowd of supporters drawn from the 16 local government areas of Ekiti State, had earlier staged a show of strength that brought Ado-Ekiti to a standstill ahead of the party primary slated for October 27.

However, reports from TVC News confirmed that the APC screening committee disqualified the aspirant from taking part in both the primary election and the overall gubernatorial contest.

The party has not yet issued an official statement explaining the reasons behind Ojo’s disqualification, but the move has stirred reactions among his supporters, who expressed disappointment over the development.

The disqualification now reshapes the political landscape ahead of the APC primary, as attention shifts to other aspirants still in the running for the party’s ticket in the forthcoming Ekiti governorship election.
