He made the statement during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, addressing reports that Atiku and Obi might form an alliance and contest on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Oshiomhole said both politicians have a record of losing elections, whether they contest separately or on the same ticket, adding that any renewed partnership between them would not change the outcome.

He recalled that Atiku and Obi previously ran together against the All Progressives Congress and were defeated. He argued that teaming up again would not alter their electoral fortunes, insisting that President Bola Tinubu would still prevail if they decided to challenge him in 2027.

Oshiomhole said history has shown that the duo had been beaten both as allies and as individual contenders, and that their alliance would only lead to another loss at the polls.
