Oyebanji Says APC Primary Is Key To Sustaining Ekiti Growth

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has described the upcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary slated for October 27 as a crucial moment to preserve the progress made under his administration over the past three years.

Speaking at his Ikogosi residence during a meeting with the BAO Primary Election Local Organizing Committee from the 16 local government areas, Oyebanji said the exercise would determine the continuity of the party’s development agenda in the state. He urged members to remain united and committed to the ideals of the APC, noting that the success of the primary was vital to the state’s stability and political future.

The governor called on party members to support individuals who share the APC’s vision and have worked hard for its success. He explained that the process was not about personal ambition but about protecting a political structure that had brought growth to Ekiti.

Oyebanji expressed gratitude to party leaders, appointees, and members for their commitment and voluntary financial contributions towards his re-election campaign. He said their collective support had given him renewed confidence to continue leading the state on its development path.

He commended the Local Organizing Committee for its coordination across all local government areas and urged them to remain focused as preparations for the primary intensified.

Presenting the report of the ward-to-ward tour from Ikole Local Government, Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye, assured the governor of overwhelming support from party members in the area.

Similarly, the Deputy Speaker, Bolaji Olagbaju, who represented Ado Local Government, said the ward engagements recorded massive turnout and reaffirmed the loyalty of APC members to Oyebanji’s leadership.

Also speaking at the meeting, APC chieftain Chief Jide Awe and former Attorney General Wale Fapohunda (SAN) encouraged members to intensify mobilization in their wards and ensure the party maintains a strong presence across the state ahead of the primary election.
