The Special Adviser to the Governor on Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, gave the warning in a statement released in Ado Ekiti over the weekend. He said the months of September to December, commonly called ember months, are not dangerous as widely believed, but that many accidents during the period are caused by human error.

Olatunbosun noted that most crashes can be avoided if drivers obey traffic rules, avoid drunk driving, and maintain full concentration behind the wheel. He stressed that impatience, speeding, fatigue, poor vehicle maintenance, and reckless overtaking remain major causes of accidents.

He urged motorists to rest when tired instead of rushing, and avoid using mobile phones while driving. He added that safety consciousness helps not only drivers but also protects pedestrians and cyclists.

The adviser assured that Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration would continue to invest in road infrastructure to improve safety, reduce travel risks, and enhance the quality of life in the state.
