Yoruba Group Challenges Tinubu To Publish N330bn Cash Transfer List

A Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Ìgbìnmó Májékóbájé Ilé-Yorùbá, has demanded that President Bola Tinubu publish the full list of beneficiaries of the N330 billion cash transfers his administration claimed to have disbursed to poor and vulnerable Nigerians.

In a statement on Friday signed by Convener Olusola Badero and Home Director Princess Balogun, the group accused the government of propaganda, alleging that most beneficiaries were members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The union said Tinubu’s removal of fuel subsidy on his first day in office had worsened hardship, forcing many businesses to collapse and millions of citizens into begging for survival. It questioned how the N25,000 monthly stipend could sustain a family when the price of rice has exceeded N70,000.

“The era of propaganda is gone. We are in a digital world where nothing is hidden. Our people in the Southwest are dying in poverty, while their own son at the top is gambling with their destiny,” the statement read.

The group warned that poverty, school dropouts, and rising crime were clear signs of worsening living conditions since Tinubu assumed office. It argued that Nigerians, once known for dignity, were now reduced to beggars.

Ìgbìnmó Májékóbájé Ilé-Yorùbá demanded that government publish a detailed list of beneficiaries with their states, local governments, and wards, to prove transparency. It also cautioned the World Bank and IMF against granting further loans to Nigeria based on unverifiable cash transfer claims.

The union insisted that continuous borrowing and higher taxes only deepen poverty and instability, stressing that governance must shift from propaganda to transparency and accountability.
