Obi, in a post on his verified X handle yesterday, said the funds would go towards acquiring new equipment and transforming the hospital into a full health complex with a School of Nursing, Midwifery, and Health Technology.

He commended faith-based organisations for their role in providing quality healthcare, stressing that with proper support they could deliver excellence. “Together, we can build a healthier Nigeria,” he said after being taken round the facility by Ven. Dr. Kamtochukwu Obi, Chairman of the Aguata Diocesan Hospital Board.

The donation came shortly after Obi addressed a tourism event in Enugu, before attending a dinner in Owerri hosted by Nnaemeka Maduagwu in honour of former Kaduna governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

He, however, disclosed that he had been feeling unwell during the engagements and was advised by his doctor to take a short medical rest.

Obi said he might suspend some of his scheduled activities within and outside Nigeria during the week, apologising for any inconvenience his absence might cause.
