President Bola Tinubu has approved the release of over N90 billion to cover school fees and living expenses for 400,000 students in Nigerian tertiary institutions under the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced this on Wednesday in Abuja when a delegation of state commissioners of information paid him a courtesy visit. He said the scheme was designed to ensure students remain in school without financial obstacles or undue burden on their parents.

Idris explained that the initiative reflects Tinubu’s vision of inclusive development, making education accessible to all Nigerians regardless of political or religious background. He stressed that no child should be denied access to tertiary education due to lack of funds.
