The All Progressives Congress has urged the Peoples Democratic Party to accept recent by-election results across several states as proof that Nigerians have rejected it at the polls.

The APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the remark in Abuja while reacting to comments from PDP governors who met in Zamfara over the weekend. The governors had accused the ruling party of lacking vision and claimed its conduct during the elections was undemocratic.

Morka dismissed the allegations as baseless, saying it was the PDP that had lost touch with voters and was struggling for relevance. He said the outcome of the by-elections reflected the growing confidence Nigerians had in President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

He accused the PDP of only praising the electoral process when it wins and discrediting it when it loses, describing the approach as irresponsible. According to him, APC victories in non-APC-led states such as Zamfara, Adamawa, and Kano showed that public support was shifting in favor of the ruling party.

Morka alleged that despite what he called violent attacks and intimidation targeted at APC candidates, the party still prevailed, which he said further confirmed its strength. He advised PDP governors to accept reality and stop misleading their members with false hopes.
He argued that the opposition had failed to provide alternative policies or meaningful ideas for Nigerians, noting that in the last three election cycles, it had relied mainly on criticism. He said APC, on the other hand, was delivering reforms and development programs that were changing the lives of citizens.
Morka pointed to federal allocations of N2 trillion to states in July 2025, the highest in Nigeria’s history, as proof of President Tinubu’s economic policies. He said PDP governors were beneficiaries of the funds but had little to show for them.
He added that Nigerians still remembered the era when the PDP-led federal government left many states unable to pay salaries, while under Tinubu, the country was on a path of stability and growth.
Morka urged Nigerians to continue backing the APC, saying the party was committed to building a future of inclusive development and prosperity.
